VEEDERSBURG — Mildred Ailene Alston, 73, Veedersburg, died at 4:50 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2000 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She was born march 27, 1922 in Veedersburg, the daughter of Manford and Ellen C. Trobaugh Alston. She was a member of the Veedersburg Church of the nazarene. She graduated from Veedersburg High School and had worked as store clerk, nursing home assistant, Peterson Purtian in Danville, Ill. and R.M.C. in Attica. Survivors include: a sister, Shirley Alston, Veedersburg; a brother, Wayne (Meredith) Alston, S. Portland, Maine; and a nephew, Robert Wayne Alston. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sept. 11 in the Veedersburg Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Edwin Retter officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg. Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, was in charge of arrangements. Preferred memorials to the Church of the Nazarene. – jlr

Miss Alston was a member of Veedersburg Church of the Nazarene. She graduated from Veedersburg High School and had worked as a store clerk, nursing home assistant, and at Peterson Puritan, Danville, Ill. and RMC in Attica. Visitation was Sunday at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg. Service on Monday at Veedersburg Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Edwin Retter officiating. Interment in Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg.
